Since I don't know what DW codes are, I can say that I probably don't want one.

But I am curious as to what exactly they are.

They're codes that will allow you to create a free user account over at Dreamwidth, which is a journaling service like LJ only it's supposed to be better and more fan-friendly. For me, it's got some nice features and it allows cross-posting between itself and LJ which is nice. Also, you can write longer posts there and longer comments to posts so it's beloved by fanfic writers for being a place where the teal deer can run free.
