Bonus Question: What small fandom/rarepair would you love to see/create more fanworks for?:

Ok, this is one for GI Joe fandom (specifically the Real American Hero era of GI Joe): Wetsuit/Leatherneck needs more fic love. Wetsuit's a Navy SEAL, Leatherneck's a Marine and together (along with the rest of the Joes), they fight Cobra while arguing constantly about which service branch is better: Navy or Marines. Of course, they really are friends, when it gets down to it. And if they weren’t both men, they’d be an official couple like Scarlett and Duke or Flint and Lady Jaye.

Their canonical rivalry is pretty heavily FoeYay from their first appearance (hell, they're introduced bickering at each other about which one's the better soldier) and carries on throughout the series. Though for me the episode “The Rotten Egg"is what I point to as the closest thing to canonical evidence of them being a couple. There’s just something about the way Wetsuit frets about the fact that Leatherneck hasn’t called in for a couple days that screams “I am worried about my boo!” to me.

To the best of my knowledge, no one has ever done a Leatherneck/Wetsuit fic – or if they have, I’ve never found it. I’ve got a fic in mind that references the idea of them as a couple, but no ideas featuring the pair have come to mind. Yet.

Speaking of Scarlett – in the cartoons she was paired up with Duke, while in the comics she was paired up with Snake-Eyes. I wouldn’t mind seeing fics featuring them as a thruple or some other variation on a polyamorous relationship.

Oh No, You Didn't -- From Mercenaries 2: World In Flames. This? Is what Swindle would sing to his kids at night, if he had kids. Or if he'd acknowledge any kids he had. Maybe Onslaught sings it to the Combaticons...

Video above is the full-length version; Commercial is here

As for Metal-Head: the Brutal Legend TV commerical is all about a heavy metal roadie transported to a Heavy Metal album cover world where he is the one Chosen to either save the world or destroy it. But, yeah...this is where Metal-Head goes when he sleeps, aww yeah.

Continuity-wise, this story takes place in my own version of the GI Joe universe. It is loosely based on a mix of Devil's Due/Marvel continuity with some Sunbow/DIC tossed in for kicks and grins.
Disclaimer: The only character I 'own' is Karen. Everybody else belongs to Hasbro, et. al.
Author's Note: Once again thanks to the ever-lovin' blue-eyed Danielle for her assistance in beta-reading this piece as well as her encouragement and assistance on military details. Any mistakes in military protocol are purely mine own.

Author's Note: Crosby, North Dakota is actually, factually a real town. I know this because, big screaming dork that I am, I looked it up! It's a small town with a population of about 1,200 in northern North Dakota in Divide County which is near the US/Canada border. The Lutefest is an actual event held in the town (and which looks to be a pretty good time this year 'round, judging from the blurb about it in the on-line version of the town's newspaper.

Author's note: Scene inspired by a similar scene in Inside Delta Force: The Story of America's Elite Counterterrorist Unit by Eric L. Haney. The situation is real, I just took the idea and ran with it to make it my own Joe story (just like Hama!). Any technical errors are purely mine own.
Standard Disclaimer: GI Joe and all characters mentioned (except for Karen) are property of Hasbro and licensed by Devil's Due. Karen, for whatever it's worth, I made her up. The baby too.

Title: I Got a Girl

Characters/Pairing: Blast Off, Range Viper #3
Word Count: approximately 2100 words
Rating: a mild R
Author's Note: Evy was a character in the GI Joe cartoon produced by DIC in the late 80s/early 90s. Her sole appearance was in the episode "I Found You...Evy." Like Blast Off, I have no idea why these two seem to be a match, but they do.

Written for the GI Joe Fanfiction Bootcamp Exercise #22, which was to write the Joes in an alternate universe. Centers around events depicted, at various times, in the Marvel GI Joe comics.
