this post ODB has a whole unfinished fics as a messy garage motif going on, hence the sprinkler references. X-posted here in hopes of advice or butt-kickings.
# # #I've got at least two sprinklers right now, neither one of which I can bring myself to do anything with. I think the problem is that they're bigger, more complicated sprinklers than the usual tiny ring-shaped, screws-onto-the-hose sprinklers I'm used to.
One's a murder mystery that takes place during the events of the Transformers movie (the original, animated one) and the other is a crossover with GI Joe and Transformers. In both cases, the big problem seems to be that the events in each story would have an impact outside the insular world that the Transformers are usually portrayed in.
In the mystery, the murder victim is a human being which, in my head, means all sorts of potential legal problems for the Transformers. Which is half the fun, since the nominal detective for the piece is Red Alert who I'm trying not to write as a raving paranoid but this event does set off his "Oh CRAP!" buttons.
In the crossover, the Combaticons engage GI Joe on American soil and part of the problem is that I want the Combaticons to be able to leave without the Joes trying to capture them or take them into custody (though that idea would be a hella sweet fic of its own).
Both problems come down to me having to try and figure out what would be a good, logical, quasi-realistic approach to the events. I do know that the Joes' actions in the crossover are going to lead to the formation of the EDC. But...
Ok, blathered enough, need to get ready for work. Sorry for the blather!
