[livejournal.com profile] stacia_kane, an urban fantasy/paranormal romance author (Personal Demons, As the Lady Wishes, Day of the Dead) is doing a small workshop on writing sex scenes at her journal. Her first post talks about What a Sex Scene Does. She warns in her intro for adult language, but the article is fairly tame as far as I can see -- though mileage may vary depending on where you might be reading from.

Since this is one of those things I'm not very good at/comfortable with/unsure of myself with, I'll be watching this with interest.

Thankyouthankyouthankyou for the linkage. I write mecha-smut, but pointers are pointers. And in my own original fic universe, the mecha involved is like Data from ST:TNG, "fully functional".
