I just entered the Erma Bombeck Writing Competition under the humor category. I don't expect to win (but will secretly be crushed when I don't). Since they consider an essay posted to a website to be published, I'll wait until the contest is over before I put it up here, just in case.

Yes! I remember reading that when I was a kid and I so want to pick up some copies of her stuff. She's just...gahh, she's so damn funny. She's one of the people who helped shape my sense of humor.
