I hate snow. I hate snow. I @#$@ hate @#$@@ snow!

This is the worst winter I can remember -- and that's including the big @#$#@ ice storm in 2004 that is the reason Amy and I moved to Dayton. And *that* storm knocked out our power for three days.

Currently, we're at a level 1 snow emergency, which basically means 'be careful when you're driving' but we might be switching over to a level 2 (Don't drive if you don't have to) once rush hour is over. Apparently the county wants to continue to be able to use private salt trucks/plows to supplement the county vehicles.

This is the fourth or fifth winter storm of the season, I think. It might be more, but I really can't remember because it feels like every week or two weeks we're getting hit by another snow advisory or winter weather advisory. It feels like the closing notices have been running since November.

'Course, it could be worse, we could be in Darke County which is under a level 3 snow emergency (i.e. we will arrest you if you're driving). Or Greene county, which has been hit by an ice storm that knocked out power to 50,000 people.

The good news? The winter storm warning for our area has been cancelled -- for a blizzard warning. Oh, no wait! The blizzard warning was just cancelled! For a severe blizzard warning.

I HATE THIS GODDAMN WEATHER! KNOCK IT THE HELL OFF ALREADY! I WENT OUT IN THE SNOW TO GET GROCERIES AND THEY'RE SELLING SPRING COOKIES! IF THERE ARE SPRING COOKIES FOR SALE, IT SHOULD NOT BE SNOWING!

I do not want the severe blizzard warning to be cancelled because I don't want to know what we can go up from. Ice age warning, maybe? Do not take your mammoth out unless you absolutely have to? We will arrest you if you try to leave your cave?

What sucks is I'm getting stir crazy, hell I was getting stir crazy when I got home this morning and we first watched the news about the potential for snow. We're currently expecting between 10 and 15 inches between tonight and tomorrow afternoon and it looks like Amy and I might be missing work tonight and possibly tomorrow which means our next check is going to suck AGAIN.

The news has spent the majority of its time on the weather, since this is such a huge storm. The problem is, most of the weather reports they're giving are centered around the daylight hours; Amy and I work 3rd shift, we need to know what the weather's going to be like at around 10pm through 6:30am -- 'weather worsening in the early hours of the morning' isn't specific enough for us. When, exactly, are the 'early hours' of the morning?

Amy just said we have a slight chance of thunder with these storms. [obscenities deleted]

Between the weather and us being sick our bank account is taking a severe beating. Not, I keep reminding myself, as severe as it was before we came to Dayton -- we're able to pay rent and buy food and such -- but more severe than I would like it to be. It's fret-making, to say the least.

And we're looking at 15-18 inches of snow by midnight. Conditions are going to rapidly deteriorate in the next 1-2 hours.

I bought cheese dip and pretzel crackers for dinner last night and left the leftovers in the fridge in the thought of having them again tonight.

We're staying home 'cause of the storm.

Cheese dip delayed.
