I'ma do a meme
Because, for a variety of reasons that I'll go into at a later date, I'm getting back into Transformers and back into fic writing. Partly because I want to actually, seriously, no-fooling finally @#$@# finish "Common Cause" and also because I want to start posting things over at AO3. I'm thinking of starting off by editing/rewriting fics for AO3. I'm kind of waffling as to what fics to do, so if you're reading this and you have a favorite, feel free to let me know.
And also, I want to do a meme. Folks can give me a letter or I'll pick a few for myself and go through them as I will:
A: How did you come up with the title to [insert fic]?
B: Any of your stories inspired by personal experience? claimed by Dragoness_e
C: What member do you identify with most?
D: Is there a song or a playlist to associate with [insert fic]?
E: If you wrote a sequel to [insert fic], what would it be about?
F: Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
G: Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order?
H: How would you describe your style?
I: Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?
J: Write or describe an alternative ending to [insert fic].
K: What’s the angstiest idea you’ve ever come up with?
L: How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?
M: Got any premises on the back burner that you’d care to share?
N: Is there a fic you wish someone else would write (or finish) for you?
O: How do you begin a story–with the plot, or the characters?
P: Are you what George R. R. Martin would call an “architect” or a “gardener”? (How much do you plan in advance, versus letting the story unfold as you go?) claimed by Dragoness_e
Q: How do you feel about collaborations?
R: Are there any writers (fanfic or otherwise) you consider an influence?
S: Any fandom tropes you can’t resist?
T: Any fandom tropes you can’t stand?
U: Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.
V: If you could write the sequel (or prequel) to any fic out there not written by yourself, which would you choose?
W: Do you like more general prompts, or more specific ones?
X: A character you enjoy making suffer.
Y: A character you want to protect.
Z: Major character death–do you ever write/read it? Is there a character whose death you can’t tolerate?

Thank you! And Answers to B and P
B: Any of your stories inspired by personal experience?
Yes, several. Not in a direct one-to-one, this-is-a-thing-that-happened-to-me sense, but several of my stories have characters dealing with things that are similar to things I have experienced in my life. Particularly in fics like “Making Do” or ‘On-His-Knees Pipes.” I’m a big believer that personal experiences can help flavor your writing, even if you haven’t felt/experienced the exact same thing that the characters have. My Red Alert fic, “Compulsion” is definitely inspired by those moments I’ve had where I’m like, “…did I lock the door? I did, didn’t I? I should check – but I just got comfortable in bed…*auugh* fine, getting up and checking…”
I’ve done similar things in my original writing, though I don’t have examples online that I can point to, so you’re going to have to trust me on that.
P: Are you what George R. R. Martin would call an “architect” or a “gardener”? (How much do you plan in advance, versus letting the story unfold as you go?)
For the most part, I’m an architect. I tend to plan things out, though there are some fics that required less planning than others did. Generally, the shorter the fic, the less planning I do, but there’s a bit of research or planning or some other kind of skull-sweat in every fic I’ve done, regardless of length. When it comes to my original writings, I do a lot of planning – probably too much, since I have yet to actually *finish* one of my original works. *grumbles*
